Enjoyed the memories. I do get back once in a while to stop at cemetary and see my parents grave. Growing up in Hobart was special because of Lake George and small town American image. I graduated in 1964 and we had the largest graduating class ever. We built the Wishing Well and Coach Deal was in his prime. I played on the golf team for Coach Trammel and went on to Indiana State University on a golf scholarship. I was introduced to golf by Mrs. Dorty Moody when the summer after I graduated the fifth grade. Her effort to take the time with an eleven year old kid was very kind. She impacted my life a great deal. Our graduating class has teamed together to write a book called "Growing Up in Hobart". Book one is finished and book number 2 will be finished soon. If you email howardo@verizon.net you can get a copy of the book. He does a great of collaborating the stories from the our classmates back then. |
